Blog: Social Networking Sites

As a college student in 2020, I own a lot of accounts on various social networking sites. Currently, I have an account on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, and I'm most active on Instagram and LinkedIn.

Facebook used to be my most used social media account, but over the years, I've switched to Instagram. I mainly use Facebook to stay updated if I'm in a group for something such as a class, a dance team, or a club. Facebook makes it super easy to schedule things, instantly message, and post information for large groups of people. However, I don't really use Facebook to post about me or to get external information.

Twitter is also a social network I don't use too often. Don't get me wrong, I love Twitter and I think it's one of the most useful social networking sites out there. I love the way its set up where I can see my friends' updates, but also updates about news happening outside my social circle. I definitely appreciate their "Top Trending" function since it makes it very quick and easy to stay updated about what's circling around the world. However, for some reason, Twitter doesn't attract me as much as Instagram.

I'm on Instagram a lot, and honestly, too much. As a person, I'm definitely more on the creative side than the technical side, so I love seeing creative content. Instagram is a great platform for that. With the app, it's easy for me to find inspiration in photography, dance, and writing. It's also one of my top sources to stay updated about news and stay informed about movements happening. In addition, Instagram also helps me share my content as a photographer.

My second most-used app is LinkedIn. As I enter my final semester of college, I've been using LinkedIn a lot more to connect with people and build myself a professional network. LinkedIn is great for finding jobs, staying updated about your favorite companies, and getting information from articles wrote by specialists. I love how it's like a "professional Facebook."
